Thank you for your overwhelming response to the Association ‘Analyst’ Luncheon scheduled for 12 January 2022 (next Wednesday). Regrettably, owing to the latest pandemic situation in Hong Kong and the new pandemic-control measures introduced by the Government, we have to postpone the event to late January or afterwards.

As the new year is coming, it’s again time for us to review and plan ahead. For the annual ‘Analyst’ luncheon to be held at the beginning of 2022, we are very pleased to have invited Ms Karen Li to share her thoughts with us on: (i) global trade and shipping demand outlook – how re-opening, China-US relationships, supply chain shifts, global stimulus roll-out, etc would impact the trajectory that seaborne trade would take in the new year; (ii) how the green transition will reshape the supply landscape; and (iii) key investor feedback.

Karen has been consistently rated in the All-Asia Institutional Investor (II) Survey. She was ranked individually in the top 5 for industrials by Asia II in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Karen joined J.P. Morgan in 2005, after spending two years at Goldman Sachs. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a CFA charter holder.

Karen will be joined by Mr Shawn Ng, Associate on the Asia ex-Japan Industrials, Infrastructure and Transportation team. Shawn has been with J.P. Morgan since 2017. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a double degree (First Class Honours) in Accountancy & Business Administration (Finance). He is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore. At the luncheon talk, he will offer some angles on shipbuilding and port aspects.
