The joint webinar on the development of maritime regulations in China and its impact on shipping was successfully held on 30th March 2021. Over 100 participants joined the webinar either via Tencent conference or other means. The webinar was organised by the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and co-organized by Dalian Maritime University Hong Kong and Macau Alumni Association, Shanghai Maritime University Hong Kong Alumni Association and China Maritime Arbitration Commission Hong Kong Arbitration Centre. Special thanks go to the Department of Justice of HKSAR government, International Chamber of Shipping (China) Liaison Office, Baltic Exchange, Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Hong Kong Branch for supporting the webinar, and Invest Hong Kong and Equator Fund for sponsoring the webinar. 

Maritime law experts from China and Hong Kong SAR shared with the participants the process of revising the China Maritime Code, Maritime Traffic Safety Law, and the latest development in the United Nations on the drafting of the Convention on international judicial auction of ships, and China’s ratification of the “Hong Kong Convention”.
