IMO Circular Letter No.4204/Add.26/Rev.1 19 May 2021 - Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Guidance on the gradual and safe resumption of operations of cruise ships in the European Union in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic

Circular Ref: A(21)91

The IMO has recently issued an updated version of the Guidance on the gradual and safe resumption of operations of cruise ships in the European Union in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, jointly developed by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), to facilitate the gradual restart of cruise ship operations, which are seriously affected by the pandemic.

The objective of the Guidance is to facilitate a safe restart of operations of cruise ships in the European Union by recommending minimum measures expected to be implemented by all those concerned, while maintaining general safety and security standards.

Members my find some useful guidance from this very detailed document. The IMO encouragers the document to be circulated as deemed appropriate.
