Please find attached, at Annex A, the Risk Intelligence Monthly Report for November 2021. This month’s focus section provides a short look at the impact of cocaine smuggling on maritime routes, particularly between South America and Europe. Cocaine seizures in European ports have increased significantly since early 2020 yet criminal organisations are constantly trying to find new routes and methods to import record amounts of cocaine to European markets. 

The report also provides an overview of incidents that took place between October 1 – 31, 2021, in West Africa, the Western Indian Ocean (including the Persian Gulf) and South East Asia.

In accordance with the scope of the agreement between ICS and Risk Intelligence, members are requested not to circulate the report further in its entirety. Members may precis the report or use extracts from it to help advise members on key issues or to assist in enquiries. In such cases Risk Intelligence should be acknowledged as the source of the information.
