Please find attached, at Annex A, the monthly report prepared by the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) for November 2022. 

The report:

    1. Provides an overview of the recently held US Mid Term elections, noting that the Senate race is ongoing in the state of Georgia, the outcome of which will determine the split of the Senate between the two parties ; and

    2. Reports on a US State Dept Webinar on the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) on plastic pollution, held by the Assistant Secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Division. CSA intervened during the webinar to reiterate that global regulatory framework on plastic pollution which is already well established for the shipping industry, highlighting that any US government work on the issue should not conflict with the IMO process.
