Members are requested to note that Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD) is organising a safety seminar to be held on the 28th of February 2023. HKMD has invited Mr. Stephen McMeeking, Manager Ship Inspection from Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and Dr. Zhang Shuang, Associate Professor of Dalian Maritime University, to share their insights on AMSA Port State Control inspections and introduce the measures for the new IMO greenhouse gas (GHG) emission / decarbonization regulations, respectively.
The Seminar will be conducted with a Chinese (Putonghua) session in the morning and an English session in the afternoon. Dr. Zhang will participate in both sessions via online and Mr. Stephen McMeeking will attend the afternoon English session in person.
Through the Association, the HKMD would like to encourage Association member companies to join.
