Attached, at Annex A, please find the monthly report prepared by the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) for July 2023.
The report outlines that there have been no new changes in July 2023 regarding pending maritime industry bills mentioned in past reports as congress summer recess starts in early August and concludes in early September;
1) Makes a note that, since MARPOL Annex VI requires EEXI and CII compliance through Engine Power Limiters or governors, vessels with installed power limiting device are advised by the USCG to update their Pilot Cards. This update should include the vessel's maximum available power, ensuring pilots have accurate information for safe transits;
2) And the report informs on the passing of Jim Black, of Moran Shipping Agencies, a respected industry figure and a strong supporter of CSA and its members.
