Members are advised that IMO has opened the call for nominations for the 2024 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea, as attached at Annex A.

The qualifying period for acts performed is from 01 March 2023 to 29 February 2024.

Nominations can be proposed through either a Member State or ICS, and should not be sent by Members directly to the IMO.

Information regarding nominations and a copy of the nomination form are available by clicking the links in the attached annexes, A and B.

Nominations should be accompanied with the information required by the section on “Description of circumstances and events” in the nomination form. Sufficient information should be provided to enable a proper and fair assessment by the IMO, including a justification for the actions being considered as acts of exceptional bravery at sea.

Members wishing to submit appropriate nominations through the ICS Secretariat should send all the required information no later than 25 March 2024 to :-
