Containerships Fire Detection, Firefighting & Fire Containment Measures - CARGOSAFE FSA study

Members are advised that an ad-hoc meeting has been planned to be hosted at ICS premises in London on Tuesday, 20 August 2024, in a HYBRID format. The meeting is scheduled from 10:00 – 16:00 BST.
The ICS has arranged rooms with 40 people seating capacity at the venue.

The main agenda of the meeting are to:-

• discuss the outcomes of the ‘CARGOSAFE’ FSA study,

• discuss the proposed solutions in the report and their pros and cons

• share any experiences on implementing the solutions mentioned in the report

• discuss other submissions to IMO related to container fire safety

This meeting is to assist in developing a unified position of the industry at IMO with respect to the discussion on container ship fires, which will be discussed at different subcommittees, including CCC, SSE, and HTW.

The draft agenda and notes will be circulated for consideration well in advance.

Members who are interested to participate in the meeting, remotely via MS TEAMs or physically in London HQ, are asked to register their interest by advising Lional Sharon, Senior Marine Adviser- Cargo, (lional.sharon@ics-shipping.org), copied to emmy.ramirez@ics-shipping.org, specifying whether they will attend via video teleconference or in person. As the seating capacity is limited to 40, seats will be allocated to participants on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
