ICS Hong Kong Global Maritime Trade Summit, 17 - 18 November 2024

Circular Ref: A(24)131

Very pleased to advise you that the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) will be hosting this Ministerial-CEO event – Hong Kong Global Maritime Trade Summit during the maritime week, with the support of the Association and the Hong Kong SAR Government.

The Summit has been “specially curated by the ICS to establish a dynamic, solution-focused dialogue between industry leaders and senior government representatives”. It seeks to “raise the international profile of the shipping industry and engage at the highest level with national governments”. The agenda will feature “discussions of key topics, including geopolitical instability, changing trade dynamics, nearshoring, climate change, and the role of technology”.

As you may agree, as a strong advocate for free trade and global rules-based regulations, Hong Kong is well positioned to be the host of this high-level, International event that will “place attendees at the very heart of the conversations and debates that will shape maritime trade policy for years to come”.

The Summit consists of two half-day sessions held over Sunday, 17 November (Day One) and Monday, 18 November (Day Two).

On Day One afternoon, it is a closed-door ministerial industry dialogue, with 40 contributing participants and 40 observers. The dialogue will be followed by a cocktail reception.

On Day Two morning, it is an open, high-profile public discussion of the issues raised during Day One.

While the ICS is working on the programme and logistics, it would like to also seek event partnerships and sponsorships through the Association. If you are initially interested, please contact myself or Captain Nittin Handa of the secretariat. We will advise you on the ICS sponsorship packages and further details.
