RISK INTELLIGENCE REPORTS- 5th February 2025
Members are invited to consider the most recent Risk Intelligence reports provided at the annexes as follows:
· Annex A – Red Sea Updates
· Annex B – Northern Black Sea Updates
Annex A provides an update on the Red Sea security situation as of 5 February, noting that the situation remains relatively unchanged. Military operations in Gaza and Yemen have significantly lessened, and Houthi attacks have ceased. The Houthis have declared that they will resume attacks if the terms of the ceasefire are broken; consequently, caution is advised before returning to the region. Annex B details the security situation in the Black Sea, noting that the current threat picture has not changed in the last week. Recent comments indicate that talks precluding future negotiations have begun, with preliminary meetings potentially set to begin as soon as late February or early March.
In accordance with the scope of the agreement between ICS and Risk Intelligence, members are requested not to circulate the report further in its entirety. Members may precis the report or use extracts from it to help advise members on key issues or to assist in enquiries. In such cases, Risk Intelligence should be acknowledged as the source of the information.
