As global shipping accelerates its transition toward decarbonisation, Hong Kong is positioning itself as a leading hub for green maritime fuels and transparent bunkering practices. This high-level forum aims to bring together government officials, maritime industry professionals (shipowners, ship managers/ charterers, bunker suppliers, shipyards, trade associations, cargo owners, ports, classification societies, energy producers, financial institutions, technology providers, etc.) to explore the practical pathways to a sustainable and future-ready maritime sector.

Organised by HKUST’s Institute for the Environment and hosted at the iconic Hong Kong Maritime Museum, the event features expert-led sessions on:

  • HKUST Research on Ship Retrofitting
  • Decarbonization strategies of shipping companies for in-use fleet, e.g. methanol engine and energy efficiency
  • Emerging standards like ISO 22192 and SS648:2024 for Mass Flow Metering (MFM)
  • Digitalisation and accountability in green fuel delivery
  • Panel discussions with key industry players on decarbonization strategies and new bunkering practices
