REQUEST FOR PHOTOS TO CREATE AN ICS PHOTOBANK
The ICS Secretariat would be very grateful if Members could kindly contribute interesting photographs that represent the range of shipping activities of your members; in particular, ships, ports, and seafarers at work, both on board and on shore. The Secretariat also requests permission from the copyright holder for ICS and its associated companies, to use any images provided, royalty free, as a part of an ICS photobank, which would be the first point to find images for all ICS activity, such as our website, social media, and others.
Please note, for instances where photos may be used as ‘featured images’ on our website, these may also appear as thumbnails when outside parties share the links, such as media companies covering our stories and sharing on sites like LinkedIn.
Kindly note that we can only use photos sent electronically. Please kindly send your photos in the highest resolution possible. Our general policy is to use anonymised images and therefore it may be necessary to modify any image before use so that company names are not visible.
Please kindly send your photos to comms@ics-shipping.org with the following details:
§ Short description of what is shown in the image.
§ Date or year the image was taken.
§ Name of the person or company who owns the copyright and who should be credited in captions (e.g. company name or name of the photographer).
§ Confirmation that any people featured and identifiable in the image(s) provided have given permission for their image to be shared and used for the purpose stated above.
§ Permission to use the image(s), including to what extent the images may be used.
A template “ICS Photobank Permission Form” is included at Annex A. This template includes space to insert details about the image and copyright holder and includes suggested wording granting permission for ICS and its associated companies to use the image. This wording can be adapted should the copyright holder wish to restrict how a particular image is used. Members are invited to use this form and send the completed form together with any photos to comms@ics-shipping.org
