2025 ICS CII Data Collection

Circular Ref: A(25)103

As previously advised there is a major review of the Carbon Intensity Indicator ( CII), beyond the previously planned completion date of 1st January 2026. This extension will enable DCS data for 2024 to also be considered within the review.

The ICS encourages Ship Owners and Ship Managers to submit their validated 2024 DCS data via the 2025 version of the ICS CII Data Collection system, which can be accessed via the link – ICS web page.

The ICS Secretariat extends its thanks to those who have already submitted, over 130 sets of 2024 data, and encourages Ship Owners and Ship Managers to submit their 2024 validated data as the more data that is submitted the stronger the ICS position will become to negotiate a favourable outcome for the revision of the CII.

The data received to date has proved very helpful in determining the effectiveness of the CII rating system and identifying potential improvements and will be used to create a large data model which will be used to make further submissions to IMO’s Marine Environmental Protection Committee.

Any comments or queries on the ICS CII Data Collection System may be forwarded to , Chris Waddington, ICS Technical Director – chris.waddington@ics-shipping.org.

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
