CONTINUED BLOCKADE ENFORCEMENT IN PERSIAN GULF
Members will be aware that the United States and Iran have announced they intend to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to end the naval blockades of the Strait of Hormuz this Friday 19 June. Blockade enforcement will continue throughout the week, and as a result the security threat level for the Persian Gulf will remain severe until an MOU is signed. Further information about blockade enforcement is provided at Annex A.
Members are invited to note that the United States will be continuing its monitoring programme for ships interested in transiting the Strait of Hormuz while the blockade remains in effect. Those interested in learning more about this programme should contact US Fifth Fleet NCAGS at m-ba-navcent@us.navy.mil.
