ICS COVID-19(20)50 - UPDATE ON TESTING FOR COVID-19 ON BOARD SHIP

Please find attached a letter from the ICS outlining the current information on testing for COVID-19.  However, as there is currently no consolidated guidance nor guarantees that any one test will be fit for purpose onboard ship.

Annex A - WHO Guidance on Testing for COVID 19, which provides guidance to laboratories and stakeholders involved in laboratory testing of COVID-19 and describes strategic use of      diagnostic testing in different transmission scenarios of the COVID-19 outbreak.
 
Annex B -  International Maritime Health Authority (IMHA) Perspective on Testing Seafarers for COVID-19 (previously circulated at COVID-19(20)23) providing guidance on the efficacy of   testing methods and priorities for onboard testing.



Annex C – UK Chamber of Shipping Analysis of Different Types of COVID-19 Testing. This document describes the different types of COVID 19 testing available at the time of writing.
