The latest edition of the ICS Leadership Insights is now available to read.

In the  February 2023 edition  the  Decision Maker piece  article is from Pankaj Khanna, CEO of tanker pool specialist, Heidmar who talks about what it takes to succeed and grow in an evolving shipping market. Pankaj also touches on vessel autonomy, the Maritime Just Transition Taskforce and decarbonisation.

In the news analysis piece Grant Allen, Head of Technology at Geo Google, talks with the ICS about the opportunities for shipping to  benefit from wider digital disruption and the potential for crowd-sourced maritime data to underpin real time decision making. Following the recent redundancies of thousands of people made by tech firms, perhaps now is a positive opportunity for shipping to step in and attract these data-experts to the industry, as it heads towards even greater digitalisation.

Also, this month there is an article about the recent lifting of restrictions on crew change by the Chinese Government. This is a really positive development that should speed up the process for seafarers disembarking in Chinese ports to be repatriated.

And of course, you can catch up with the latest ICS in Action. It has been an exciting start to the year with the CEM Hubs initiative gaining further support during a ministerial event hosted by IRENA in Abu Dhabi, and launches of the highly anticipated Diversity & Inclusion toolkit and the annual Flag State Performance Table.
