Members are advised that IMO has opened the call for nominations for the 2023 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea, see attached Annex B. 

The qualifying period for acts performed is 1 March 2022 to 28 February 2023. 

Nominations should be proposed through either ICS or a Member State, and should not be sent by Members directly to the IMO. 

Information regarding nominations and a copy of the nomination form are available in the attached Annex B.

Nominations should be accompanied with the information required by the section on “Description of circumstances and events” in the nomination form. Sufficient information should be provided to enable a proper and fair assessment by the IMO, including a justification for the actions being considered as acts of exceptional bravery at sea.

Members are requested to submit appropriate nominations to Chris Oliver at the ICS Secretariat,  (chris.oliver@ics-shipping.org) no later than 31 March 2023. Alternatively, nominations can also be sent to the appropriate Member State.
