Please find attached for information a recently issued report from the IMO on developments related to piracy and armed robbery against ships since MSC 103, including a summary of the piracy and armed robbery incidents for the first six months of 2021.
The IMO Secretariat requests Member States to submit reports on incidents and recalls previous discussions related to validation of reports received; requests Member States to submit information on conditions for allowing privately contracted armed security personnel in territorial waters; and provides updates on the implementation of the Djibouti Code of Conduct and the situation in the Gulf of Guinea.
