Six Marine Insurers, Swiss Re, Gard, Hellenic Hull, SCOR, Victor and the Norwegian Hull Club have launched a Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance. The initiative focuses on reporting the carbon alignment of the portfolios of hull and machinery insurers. The Technical Guidance for signatories is also available to download from the Poseidon Principles website :-

The ICS secretariat will analyse the Guidance and compare it with the Poseidon Principles for Financial Institutions and will revert with more detail in due course.  A meeting has been arranged with the Chair of the steering committee that developed the Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance for 12 January 2022 seeking further clarity on the details of the initiative.
