Oral question at the Legislative Council meeting about the suggestion to split the Transport and Housing Bureau

Circular Ref: A(20)232

You may wish to know that yesterday (16 December 2020), the Honourable Frankie Yick raised an Oral question at the Legislative Council meeting, concerning the progress of the implementation of the suggestion to split the Transport and Housing Bureau intro two policy bureaux.

Please find attached, for your reference, the Legislator’s question and the Government's response, as given by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung.

The Association maintains its views that the present institutional framework is not ideal for the long-term, sustainable development of the maritime industry, and will continue its efforts to urge the Government to implement the above suggestion as early as possible, in the interest of not only the industry but the community-at-large.
