Quarantine exemption conditions for goods vessels visiting Hong Kong for shipping services
Circular Ref: A(21)106
Issue Date: 16 Jun 2021
Some of you might have already received advice from the Vessel Traffic Centre of the Hong Kong Marine Department, concerning the government decision to, from 15 June 2021 onwards, grant exemption to crew members onboard the non-cargo operating goods vessels visiting Hong Kong purely for shipping services (bunkering, reprovisioning of necessities and switching of shipping documents) from compulsory quarantine if certain specified exemption conditions are fulfilled.
Please see the Department's letter (attached), which is self-explanatory.
While we will continue to urge the authorities to relax the existing travel restrictions as appropriate, we would like to also remind member companies to continue to support government and community efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
