The ICS Secretariat has opened a dialogue with the GMDSS provider, Inmarsat, regarding their potential increase to the network access fee for Inmarsat-C. 

Members will recall in April, there was an increase of 25% to the fee which was introduced in 2021. 

The Secretariat has received reports that Inmarsat plans to increase the fee by a further 180% in 2023.
