RISK INTELLIGENCE MONTHLY REPORT FOR OCTOBER 2021
Please find attached, at Annex A, the Risk Intelligence Monthly Report for October 2021. This month’s focus section provides a short look at the situation in the Red Sea after the adjustment to the High Risk Area in the Indian Ocean. It is reported that threat levels in this area are likely to remain closely linked to developments in Yemen’s civil war, as well as in the broader Middle East, and that the Iran-Israel rivalry in particular has already led to several incidents at sea.
The report also provides an overview of incidents that took place between September 1 – 30, 2021, in West Africa, the Western Indian Ocean (including the Persian Gulf) and South East Asia.
In accordance with the scope of the agreement between ICS and Risk Intelligence, members are requested not to circulate the report further in its entirety.
