Members are requested to share information with the ICS of where it is known that Myanmar Seafarers are currently stranded onboard and need to be repatriated home.

The ICS and the ITF approached the ILO to intervene in encouraging the Myanmar government to facilitate the repatriation of their stranded seafarers. Following this request, the ILO have contacted the Myanmar government, which has in turn, requested information regarding the places where Myanmar seafarers are stranded and the number of seafarers in each place, names of the shipping agencies/companies they belong to.

Members employing stranded Myanmar crew members are invited to please provide this information directly to the ICS (Natalie.shaw@ics-shipping.org).
