A MOU signing ceremony for the setting up of a “Shanghai-Hong Kong International Maritime Research Centre” was held on 14th August 2017. Ms. Sandy Chan, Managing Director of HKSOA and Prof. Zhen Hong, Secretary General of Shanghai International Shipping Institute signed the MOU. It was witnessed by Mr. Frank Chan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Housing, Prof. Huang Youfang, President of Shanghai Maritime University, Ms. Sabrina Chao, Chairman of HKSOA, Mr. Willy Lin, Chairman of Manpower Development Committee, Maritime and Port Board, Mr. Kenneth Koo, Chairman of China Sub Committee, HKSOA, Ms. Joey Lam, JP, Commissioner for Maritime and Port Development and Mr. Chi-Ming Sin, Chairman of Shanghai China Alumni HK Associations.

2017年8月14日，香港船東會與上海國際航運研究中心共同發起成立的“滬港航運研究中心”簽字儀式在香港舉行。香港特別行政區政府運輸房屋局局長陳帆太平紳士、上海海事大學校長黃有方先生、香港船東會主席趙式明小姐、香港海運港口局人力資源發展委員會主席林宣武太平紳士、香港船東會中國委員會主席顧建綱先生、香港海運及港口發展專員林錦平太平紳士及滬港校友聯合會會長單志明先生見證了簽字儀式，香港船東會董事總經理陳佩珊女士、上海國際航運研究中心秘書長真虹教授簽署了協議。
