It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Secretary-General Emeritus Mr William A. O’Neil.

Mr O’Neil served as the Secretary-General of the IMO between 1990 and 2004. Please find attached a press release of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), expressing the gratitude on behalf of the global shipping community for Mr O’Neil’s outstanding leadership over the years.
