Appointment of ICS Secretary General
On December 18th, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) held a special board meeting and announced that after a thorough search and interview process, the ICS Board unanimously approved the appointment of Thomas Kazakos as the next Secretary General of ICS. He will take over from Guy Platten when he steps down at the ICS AGM in Athens in June 2025.
I am sure that members will join me in congratulating Thomas on his appointment and in thanking Guy for his excellent leadership over the past six years. Guy has been an excellent supporter of HKSOA, and we applaud him for his contributions to not just the global maritime community but also to Hong Kong.
