Discussion on Nairobi Convention (10am to 10.45am)

We have arranged for Hong Kong Marine Department to meet with the Association membership to discuss the subject matter. Currently, Hong Kong Flag vessels would need to apply for their wreck removal certificates (for both registration and annual certificate renewal) from the Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration. Some ship owners and managers are of the view that this (annual) task has caused inconvenience to their operations.

Briefing session on pressing issues of industry concern (11am to 12.30pm)

We have arranged this briefing session to exchange views with our members on the following issues of industry concern, among others:

– the security situation in the Persian Gulf

– global/regional regulatory frameworks on greenhouse gas emissions

– US port fees and tariff measures

Owing to the registration numbers that we have received so far, we would need to change the venue for both meetings (from the Association office) to:
