In an effort to identify those owners who are potentially operating sub-standard ships, Port State Regimes have increased their inspections of foreign vessels over the past several years. Port State Control Officers (PSCO’s) are also focusing very heavily on the ineffective implementation of a vessels Safety Management System (SMS) which is solely the responsibility of the respective crew and officers.
This engagement session will help understand our owners/operators’ various types of items that PSC regimes around the world are focused on.
Such knowledge may avoid difficulties later with port state authorities and prevent a vessel from being detained.
