FIFTH EDITION OF THE ICS TANKER SAFETY GUIDE (LIQUIFIED GAS)
The ICS is developing the fifth edition of the Tanker Safety Guide (Liquefied Gas) and invites participants from shipping companies to contribute expertise by joining the review group.
The aim of this revision is to ensure the new edition:
· Aligns with International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals, Sixth Edition (ISGOTT6);
· Aligns with the Ship to Ship Transfer Guide for Petroleum, Chemicals and Liquefied Gases, Second Edition;
· Aligns with Tanker Safety Guide: Chemicals, Sixth Edition; and
· Reflects current industry best practice on board to ensure ship and crew safety, security, environmental performance and welfare.
Members of the working group will be requested to review the current draft, provide comments and attend a small number of meetings between Q3 2026 and Q2/3 2027. Meetings will be run in a hybrid format, and members of the review group can attend remotely or in person at the ICS offices in London. Each meeting is expected to be no more than 90 minutes. Review group members benefit from engagement with contemporaries at other shipping companies and receive an acknowledgement in the book, an enhanced social media profile and a free copy on publication.
