The HKSAR Government announced an update to the Hong Kong Talent List on 18 February, with effect from 1 March 2025.

Please see the Annex released by the government attached with professions relevant to the Shipping Industry highlighted, namely:

25. Specialty insurance professionals
55. Shipping commercial professionals
56. Marine superintendents
57. Naval architects
58. Ship surveyors*
59. Professionals in green shipping*

The Association is pleased to advise that the government has accepted our recommendations for the inclusion of a new category of “Shipping Commercial Professionals” and enhancement to the “Professionals in green shipping.”

We shall share more details on these professions as they become available from the government.
