Joint Webinar on the Role of Hong Kong’s Maritime Arbitration in China's International Shipping and Trade - Current Status and Future, 香港海事仲裁在中國國際海運與貿易中的作用 – 現狀及未來線上研討會, 7th January 2021

Supported by the HKSOA and jointly organized by the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Association, Dalian Maritime University, Shanghai Maritime University, East China University of Political Science and Law, and Ningbo University, the webinar discussed Hong Kong’s strengths as an international financial, shipping, and trading center and its role in China’s “Belt and Road Initiatives” and GBA developments. Experts, scholars and industry representatives from the Mainland and Hong Kong explored future opportunities for arbitration cooperation and introduced latest developments in maritime law and dispute resolution in both the Mainland and HKSAR.

Ms. Teresa Cheng, Secretary for Justice and Mr. Philip Yang, a senior arbitrator in Hong Kong, gave welcome speeches. Dr. Raymond So, Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, gave the keynote speech. More than 200 experts and practitioners from the Mainland, Hong Kong and other parts of the world participated in the conference online.

由香港船東會支持,香港海事仲裁協會、大連海事大學、上海海事大學、華東政法大學和寧波大學聯合組辦的本次線上研討會,討論了香港在國際金融、航運、貿易方面的優勢及香港海事仲裁在中國“一帶一路”和粵港澳大灣區發展中的作用。來自內地、香港的專家、學者和行業代表探討了海事仲裁合作的未來機遇,並介紹了中國內地和香港特別行政區有關海事法律和爭端解決的最新動態。

香港特別行政區政府律政司司長鄭若驊女士和香港仲裁界前輩楊良宜先生致歡迎辭。運輸及房屋局副局長蘇微文博士作主題演講。來自內地、香港和世界各地約200多名觀眾在線參加了本次研討會。
