Recent Persian Gulf, Red and Black Sea Information
Please find attached two reports from Risk Intelligence as follows:
· Annex A – Middle East Updates
· Annex B – Northern Black Sea Updates
Annex A summarises the past week’s security events in the Middle East as of 3 June. Talks between the US and Iran have once again stalled as both parties exchanged missile strikes on both ships and port facilities. Israel is also continuing its ground operations in Lebanon despite conflicting media reports.
Annex B summarises the past week’s security events in the Black Sea region as of 4 June. Incidents involving merchant vessels in Ukrainian waters, attacks on Russian-occupied ports, Russian-affiliated naval assets, and the discovery of a sea mine have all occurred over the past week but also represent regular features of the current threat environment. Without any diplomatic push, operators in the Black Sea should expect warlike conditions to continue with these threats.
