RISK INTELLIGENCE REPORTS - Jan 2026
Members are invited to consider the most recent Risk Intelligence reports provided at the annexes as follows:
· Annex A – Middle East Updates
· Annex B – Northern Black Sea Updates
Annex A summarises the past week’s security events across the Middle East. In Yemen, the UAE-backed militia group, the Southern Transitional Council, has been pushed back by Saudi-backed fighters. Consequently, the UAE announced it would withdraw its remaining troops from Yemen. In the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the situation remains static.
Annex B summarises the past week’s security events in the Black Sea region, where the conflict has largely continued at the same pace as late 2025. Russian forced have targeted Ukrainian ports over the past two weeks, and one strike on a vessel underway to Odesa was reported. Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure have also continued, with a greater focus on land targets rather than maritime infrastructure.
In accordance with the scope of the agreement between ICS and Risk Intelligence, members are requested not to circulate the report further in its entirety.
