Hong Kong dazzles world shipping with the Association’s 60th anniversary gala Dinner!

The Hong Kong Shipowners Association concluded its year-long 60th Anniversary Celebrations with its Grand Finale – The 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner, held in the Grand Ballroom of The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

The who’s who of world shipping attended this magnificent event where the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, The Hon. Mrs Carrie Lam GBM GBS, was the Guest of Honour, and was joined by the following eminent guests –

Mr C.H. Tung GBM, Association Patron and Vice President of the China People’s Political Consultative Conference

Mr Huang Liuquan, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong And Macau Affairs Office Of The State Council

Ms Qiu Hong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R

Mr Song Ru’an, Deputy Commissioner, MFA Commissioner’s Office in the Hong Kong S.A.R

Mr Frank Chan Fan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Housing

The VIP guests of the event included past Chairmen and Managing Directors of the Association, senior officials from both, the Central People’s Government and the Hong Kong SAR Government, and other industry luminaries from both Hong Kong and other parts of the world.

Apart from the delectable food and drinks, guests were treated to breath-taking performances by troupes from the Glenda Allen Dance Academy and singles by Hong Kong’s heartthrob – Eliza Chan.

A silent auction and a live auction were held. Special thanks to Kenny Lau Kin-Gi, the international award-winning artist, who is just 13 years of age, for donating his two beautiful paintings for the live auction. The proceeds would go to the Association to support its operations, projects and special events.

Three of the Association’s secretariat staff were presented with certificates in recognition of their long service.

What’s more, the Master of Ceremonies for the event was none less than the gorgeous Ms Ada Pong, Miss Hong Kong 2015 1st Runners Up.
